Five questions that show whether your brand is holding together

A ten minute check for CEOs, operating partners, and anyone who sits on a board.

Five questions to ask in your next leadership meeting. They take ten minutes and tell you whether your brand is holding together.

If five executives give five answers, the market is probably hearing all five.

You don't need a consultant to get a first read on brand health. You need about ten minutes and a few executives who will answer honestly, which is sometimes the hard part.

Here are five questions. Ask them in your next leadership meeting and watch the room.

  1. What do we promise customers, in one sentence? Ask five executives separately, then compare. Close enough is fine. Wildly different is a finding.

  2. When did brand consistency last change a decision? Think of a deal, a feature, or a discount someone turned down because it contradicted the promise. If nobody can name one, the promise may be decorative.

  3. When did our story last change, and who approved it? Real pivots have a decision, a date, and an owner. Drift has none of those and a lot of confused people.

  4. Do we hire, sell, and onboard the way we say we do? Read the job posting, the sales deck, and the day one schedule side by side. Bring snacks. It can get awkward.

  5. Who would we call if the answer to any of these is no? If the honest reply is “marketing,” go back to question one and ask why.

A word on scoring

You can't fail this. If the answers line up, great. You now have real evidence and a better story for your next diligence call. If they don't, you've learned something cheaply... which beats learning it from a buyer.

This is the kind of check the Amonta™ Brand Integrity Framework is built around, just with more rigor and fewer snacks.
